Mark your calendars! One of northern Okinawa’s most exciting summer events, the 37th Kunigami Village Festival takes place this weekend at Kunigami Junior High School Grounds.

Enjoy a day in northern Okinawa’s abundant green nature, then join the festival for live music, dance, games, and local food. Day 1 features stage performances, local music groups, and special guest Yanbaru Miyagi.

On Day 2, don’t miss the powerful and dynamic performance by Sosaku Geidan Requios at 18:10, a creative Eisa group dedicated to preserving tradition through stage artistry. The night also includes a moment of star-gazing when all festival lights are turned off, followed by a spectacular fireworks display to close the event.
