National Bullfighting Summit in Okinawa
The 28th National Bullfighting Summit will be held in Uruma City as part of the city’s “20th Anniversary Celebration.” This major event brings together top bullfighters and prized bulls from across Japan for an exciting showcase of Okinawa’s traditional bullfighting culture, known as Tōgyū.
Spectators can witness the powerful clashes between bulls in the ring—contests of strength, spirit, and training that reflects deep rural pride and centuries-old tradition. The summit also serves as a meeting point for enthusiasts and breeders nationwide, promoting cultural exchange and preservation of this unique heritage.
