Okinawa Zento Eisa Festival 2026
Feel the Beat of Okinawa! The thunder of taiko drums, the rhythm of the sanshin and the energy of hundreds of dancers will take over Okinawa City when the 71st Okinawa Zento Eisa Festival returns for three spectacular days, September 4–6, 2026.
One of Okinawa’s biggest and most exciting traditional events, the festival brings together some of the island’s top Eisa groups, each showcasing its own distinctive costumes, choreography and drumming style. The festivities kick off Friday evening with the Michijunee street parade around Gate 2 Street and Goya Crossing, before moving to the Koza Sports Park Athletic Field for two days of performances.
And there’s even more reason to head to the festival: the Orion Beer Fest 2026 in Koza takes place simultaneously on Saturday and Sunday at the adjacent sub-ground. Enjoy ice-cold Orion beer, Okinawan food, live music and evening fireworks—a perfect combination for one of Okinawa’s biggest weekends of the year.
Note: The festivals have no public parking; visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.
