This is the annual winter pottery sale held at Yachimun no Sato, a community of potters in Yomitan Village. Yachimun means pottery in the Okinawan dialect, and Okinawan pottery, with its unique rustic texture, is very popular among tourists. At the market, pottery items can be purchased at bargain prices, up to 20-30 percent off regular prices.
