Asato Dojo invites everyone to 100 Kata Challenge 2021
Asato Dojo invites members and friends in Okinawa to take the 100 Kata Challenge 2021 this Sunday, Oct. 24, the World Karate Day, at the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman.
The event celebrates the participants’ passion for martial arts and connection with Okinawa, the birthplace of Karate. The event takes place worldwide, with more and more people taking up the challenge and joining the worldwide community of Karate and Kobudo fans.
Participants are free to choose a preferred kata and progress at their own pace to repeat the same kata 100 times. The event is open to participants of all ages and levels, and even people who may not be able to complete 100 repetitions are warmly encouraged to come and do their best. As the organizers say, “The only way to fail is by not taking part!”
The event starts at 11 a.m. and lasts about 2.5 hours. Participants should wear their karate dogi and arrive by 10:30 a.m. A picnic lunch together is scheduled after the event, so please bring your lunchbox and plenty to drink. Photography at the event is allowed.
