Yagaji Island is located in the Haneji Inland Sea, which is ringed by the municipalities of Nakijin and Nago, with Yagaji Beach a popular BBQ and camping spot. Along with Kouri Island, this is a recommended spot for beach fun.

A number of small islands dot the Haneji Inland Sea, a rare sight in Okinawa. Mangroves line the coastline from which visitors can enjoy fishing and kayaking.
