Be at one with nature in this environmental oasis. The park is home to 87 species of birds, 30 species of fish and 20 species of mammals. Feed some birds, and you may get a flock to gather around you.


Himeyuri Monument / Himeyuri Peace Museum

The Himeyuri Monument was constructed here in memory of the young girls and teachers who served as nurses for the Japanese Army and who lost their lives during the Battle of Okinawa. The Himeyuri Peace Museum displays a full-size replica of a bomb shelter, books of testimonials and portraits of the victims.

Okichan Theater

With the East China Sea and Ie Island in the background, Oki-chan Theater features dolphin performances by park idol Oki-chan and her friends. The show’s playful stars entertain audiences with their high jumps and dance routines. The theater is located just across from the aquarium building, surrounded by Dolphin Lagoon, the Sea Turtle Pool and the Manatee Pool.


Sunset Square (located in Ocean Expo Park)

Admission: Free (playground equipment for ages 3-12 only)

This is an open-air recreation facility located on the premises of Ocean Expo Park. Sunset Square, as its name implies, affords an amazing view of the sun setting over the East China Sea, beautifully turning the sky and ocean red. There is no admission required for Sunset Square. (Admission to Ocean Expo Park is free, too.) After parking your car, you can get around the park on foot or by shuttle bus (fee).
