This is a park set in the midst of mangrove trees in Gesashi Bay. The mangrove forest has been designated a national natural monument. There is a walkway through the park and an observation deck from where visitors can observe the mangroves.

With one kilometer of pure white sand, Uppama Beach can be found beyond some sugarcane fields near the Gesashi no hirugi bayashi mangrove forest. This pristine beach is recommended when visiting Higashi Village, located in a mountainous area.

Recommended for families with young children looking for well-equipped beaches is Fukujigawa Seaside Park, which has a beach where jellyfish nets are installed. Kayaking, stand up paddle boarding (SUP) and other activities are also on offer. The park has both a seaside and a riverside area.

The ruins of Urasoe Castle, which served as the royal palace before the capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom was relocated to Shuri, are located on Maeda Kochi, a steep hill 120 meters above sea level in Urasoe City that was depicted in the Hollywood movie “Hacksaw Ridge.”
